Using Essential Oils When Drying Your Laundry
Another easy way to incorporate essential oils into your daily life is to make your own scented dryer sheets. Of course, this only works if you use a dryer to dry your clothes rather than hanging them out on a clothes line. If you do use a dryer, however, adding the essential oils only takes a quick extra couple of moments.
First, you’ll need some unscented dryer sheets. I typically just pick mine up at the dollar store, but you can use any brand you prefer. You want to wait to prepare the dryer sheet until right before you are about to dry the clothes. This way, you’ll get the most of your essential oils. So, after you’ve tossed the clothes in the dryer, simply add 2-3 drops of your favorite essential oil or essential oil blend to the unscented dryer sheet. Toss the sheet in with the clothes, and that’s it! Not only will the scent of the essential oils freshen your laundry, but as the dryer is running, the heat from the dryer will help spread the scent of the essential oils throughout the whole area where the dryer is located. If you live in an apartment, this could mean your entire living area. Next time you do laundry, give this a try. I think you’ll be amazed at how just a couple of drops of essential oil can have such a broad effect.
